I was swimming yesterday in my swimming pool when it dawned upon me that internet marketing is very much same as swimming. All the concepts of swimming apply directly to internet marketing. SO if you are a new internet marketer trying to establish your online business, then you might want to recall how you learned swimming.
The first thing they tell you is that you’ve got to learn floating. And very similarly to this in your internet marketing business you’ve got to understand the underlying concepts and principles which tell you how things work. Unless you have the basic knowledge of how thiings are working in the internet marketing niche, you can’t really expect to be a successful internet marketer, can you? It’s not really that difficult as I show you in these few steps that you can learn the basics of internet marketing just as easily as you learned or will learn floating. You did that the very first day or the second day of your swimming lessons, didn’t you?
Personally, I took three days to start floating. And I took 5 to 6 days @ 8 hours a day to figure out the basic stuff. After this period has passed, then the very next phase is trying to get specific knowledge and implement it to make your first sale. Read on and you will know exactly what I mean…

Straighten up your body: Focus on what your objectives are and have a big enough reason “why”. This means knowing exactly what you want to achieve from your business and why you want to achieve what you want to achieve. Almost everyone knows what they want to achieve but there are actually very few people who know why they want to achieve what they want to achieve. When you know this “Why” and “What” then your success becomes far more achievable because you have this drive which will push you forward.

Relax & have Faith: Do not rush. The rule is same both with internet marketing and swimming The biggest mistake you can ever make is to try and make money with just 10 to 20 hours (probably half of which are getting wasted) spent on internet marketing. Like with every great achievement this will also take time. But have faith that if you are following the route that other successful people follow then you are also going to achieve the same results. Its just a matter of time. You gotta be persistent in your efforts. Of course you need to ensure that you are following the footsteps of a person who is honestly telling you what they did in a step by step fashion and they achieved a lot of success following the same steps which they recommend to you.

Stay still as long as possible and make friends with water: This is to say that you need to be persistent while you are learning and understanding how things work.(this is first stage ie. learning or floating stage).And making friends with water signifies that there is no point in doing internet marketing unless you enjoy doing it. When you enjoy doing what yu are doing then you are almost doomed to be success.

Don’t let the water go into your mouth or nose: Water in a pool is pretty much like information. There is a whole lot of it. But the moment excess water goes in, you loose balance and control. So stay away from all the distractions that come along the way and make sure that you are0 actually utilizing most of your time because time is a resource which will definitely fly out very quickly if you are not using it judiciously and although you can keep a check over the amount of money spent, you can never stop the time from flowing. So one of the biggest mistake to avoid is to try and learn everything you can because honestly you do not need to learn all the things that are out there. Information information everywhere and still no knowledge that you could apply. Obviously unless you go out and try to find someone who is doing something that is making them successful and you also follow their footsteps and do the same things. This way your time is utilized rather than being wasted. So automatically this step also boils down to being focused.
